Reiki Day of Healing

KELAB PUTERI LANGKAWI
Fundraising Event – April 24th 2009 - Reiki Day of Healing

First of all we would like to give a big thanks to Mr. K. S. Lee, the General Manager of the Bayview Hotel along with Mei Ling and Doreen for kindly letting us use their Sapphire Room and for their assistance given through the day. With the free use of this facility it means that all the profit from today will be channelled towards our Snoezelen fund for Langkawi General Hospital.
Yogesh Thaker, a local Reiki Master, along with his Masters, practitioners and other practitioners from a second group arrived early to prepare themselves mentally & physically for their day of healing. Our thanks to Yogesh, Charu, Maria, Peter, Michelle, Eric, Aida, Baskaran, Christine, Dorothy, May, Naren, Jean, Kristy, Preethi, Phei-Phei & Rani, for giving up their entire rest day to raise funds for Kelab Puteri Langkawi. They were to work through the day from 10am to 6pm giving their energizing Reiki sessions to the numerous local business people and residents of Langkawi who took advantage of the healing on offer today.
Reiki sessions today lasted about 30 minutes with the practitioners laying their hands on the client and allowing a healing energy to flow between healer and client. We are alive because life force is flowing through us. Life force flows within the physical body though pathways called chakras, meridians and nadis. It also flows around us in a field of energy called the aura. Life force nourishes the organs and cells of the body, supporting them in their vital functions. When this flow of life force is disrupted, it causes diminished function in one or more of the organs and tissues of the physical body.
The life force is responsive to thoughts and feelings. It becomes disrupted when we accept, either consciously or unconsciously, negative thoughts or feelings about ourselves. These negative thoughts and feelings attach themselves to the energy field and cause a disruption in the flow of life force. This diminishes the vital function of the organs and cells of the physical body.
Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging them with positive energy. It raises the vibratory level of the energy field in and around the physical body where the negative thoughts and feelings are attached. This causes the negative energy to break apart and fall away. In so doing, Reiki clears, straightens and heals the energy pathways, thus allowing the life force to flow in a healthy and natural way.
Yogesh has practiced Reiki for many years and became a Master just over a year ago. Reiki 1 and Reiki 2 courses can be taken locally over a few days but it takes years of practicing and getting to know the healing process before one can become a Master. Once a Master you can teach other students. If you are interested in becoming a Reiki practioner or would like Reiki treatments then please contact Yogesh on 012 4097335.
Kelab Puteri is very grateful for the support of all of the above and their own members who helped in running the days events, we had a good turn from Shida, Ranga, Azhen, Yati, Chris, Elizabeth, Yarina, Hanoom, Indy and it was lovely to have two of our new members, Faayeza & Rahimah, helping so soon after joining. Charu , Jean, and Kristy were all participating on the healing side.

For International Women's Day, March 8th 2009, Kelab Puteri members joined with the newly formed Langkawi Lady-Birds Social Club and the Butterfly Club for a lunch party at L'Osteria, Pantai Tenga. From one o'clock we participated in painting the new logo of the Lady-Birds, trying to place a lipstick mouth in the correct position on a poster, and placing candles on cakes for all nationalities represented here today. After a few short speeches given by Victoria, Shida and Anne we all settled to partake of Lorenzo's fine dishes. There followed a raffle (proceeds of which are being kindly donated to Kelab Puteri and the Butterfly Club) including some spectacular gifts and mingling to chat with the other guests. A great time was had by all.
Please post your photo's in our yahoo email account.
Our next meeting is Tuesday, 7th April at 8pm. Venue: No7, 1st Floor, Taman Seroja, Jln Ayer Hangat, Kuah. (up & across the road from Idman Suri outlet)

A big THANK YOU to all those who kindly gave donations, our sponsors, advertisers and supporters.

The KELAB PUTERI LANGKAWI CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT, to raise funds for the children’s department at Langkawi General Hospital, took place at Gunung Raya Golf Resort on Saturday 2nd of August under a promising sky with the 46 golfers speeding off to their starting Tee’s at 8am. The first players were back in the clubhouse soon after noon ready for a refreshing drink and to make inroads into the buffet lunch catered for by the resort.

Twelve of our KELAB PUTERI LANGKAWI MEMBERS were at the clubhouse from 6am working with the resort staff to register the golfers and hand out the well packed goody bags and make sure that the day’s big event went smoothly. While the golfers, which included many locals, along with expat residents and tourists, were on the green the ladies then worked to sort out the winners prizes and trophies for the after lunch presentation. Speeches were made by our club president Khorshida Begum & by Mr. Lam manager of Gunung Ray Golf Resort. DJ Ray, from DJ Language Studio, kindly offered to compare for the occasion with local politician Yang Berhormat Mohammed Rawi bin Haji Abdul Hamid, Mr Lam, Tara Sundri – Kelab Puteri Event Organiser & Khorshida Begum handing over the prizes.

This event was the culmination of five months of hard work by the KELAB PUTERI LANGKAWI members who are mainly local business ladies who have now been joined by a number of ladies who have retired to Langkawi or are in transit on their sailing yachts. They all give a lot of their spare time helping the local community of Langkawi with their Charity work.

The club was established in 1992 and has no political affiliation. As well as organising many Charity Events over the years we also hold many social functions such as lunches and visits to local attractions. If you feel you have the time to give for Charity work and would like to become a member of the club the contact details are above.

Once again, Terima kasih from

Mother's Day Celebration Dinner

Tuesday 13th of May saw 30 Kelab Puteri ladies with their guests at the Westin Hotel for a Mother’s Day buffet dinner. A long table had been beautifully decorated for us on one side of the restaurant, at each place setting was a gift of a specially decorated Mothers Day mug, compliments of Kelab Puteri. Fun and games started straight away and once the ladies had placed themselves comfortably around the table dinner began. The variety of seafood appetizers and main courses appeased the taste buds of all and the dessert choices were fantastic, everything was delicious. Indy & Carolyn had a arranged a number of games to relax and get the ladies in a fun mood. Many thanks, especially to Shida for arranging such a wonderful venue for this celebration and to everyone else who helped to make the evening so special.
